Donations were recently distributed to four local service organizations from the Greater Derry Track Club's 43rd annual Turkey Trot. Sonshine Soup Kitchen, The Upper Room, St. Thomas Aquinas Food Pantry and St. Judes Food Pantry of Londonderry split $8,000 in cash and received additional funds in gift cards and over 1,000 lbs. of nonperishable food. More than 1,200 runners participate each year on Thanksgiving morning and 100% of the profit is donated back to the community. Since 2010 more than $40,000 has been donated by the club from Turkey Trot Proceeds. The Greater Derry Track Club would like to thank the sponsors of this event and all participants for their generosity.
